Hardware 4 Sale

By Steve

Over the years, I’ve managed to accumulate an ungodly amount of excess hardware. After rummaging through various boxes, I’ve made a list of some of the pieces I have. If any of the five people that probably view this blog from time-to-time are interested in some random hardware, drop me an e-mail. Prices are negotiable, blah blah blah.

A sampling of what’s available behind the “more.”

Yes, this is nuts. Some of this is stuff companies sent me; most of it is stuff I bought and replaced with better stuff companies sent me. Or something. I have no idea how I ended up with most of this. Hell, I found a laptop in my closet. When did I have a laptop? (It doesn’t work, grr. Anyone interested in a possibly working, possibly broken Inspiron 4000?)

Some of this stuff may be broken, and I can’t test all of it hardware before I send it. What I can test, I’ll make sure works when I send it. If something doesn’t work, I’ll take it back.

(It doesn’t work, grr. Anyone interested in a possibly working, possibly broken Inspiron 4000?)

I have a broken Dell laptop somebody sent me too! I used the XP Home CD-Key off the back sticker.

A lot of this stuff is very tempting… I suppose I’m most interested in the 4x512MB Corsair XMS2 DDR2 RAM. I’m looking for more than what I have at the moment. I’m also interested in the Razer Barracuda headset (it’s a microphone type, right?) because my $14 Logitech headset from Wal-Mart is about three years old now & keeps decreasing its lack of quality…

It doesn’t help that I’m also looking at an Audio Technicka PL150 record player & I’ve also realized that for the same $60 I’d pay for the 2006 Star Wars DVDs, I could buy EVERY VHS release of the theatrical Star Wars Trilogy that I don’t already have… >_>

And I’m buying a $300 big air pogostick, the Vurtego Pro.

Fortunately, I just rolled up $71 of coins, and the record player can wait, as my dad has one I can borrow. I also haven’t cashed that $50 check from a recent computer repair job.

Out of sheer curiousity, how much would you want for the E6700 and the 7900 GTX? Oh, and my brother is about to build his first PC, and he’s going AM2 – how much are those two processors worth? (this one is a serious query like the first two at the beginning of the post)

…It just occurred to me that I could be putting all my burn cash into AMD stock along with that portion of my savings…?_?… Decisions decisions… Hardware is very tempting.

I think I enjoy the excitement process more than actually owning things… I have about 20 things on my list right now, and I only have enough burn cash for three of them. Well, if I didn’t get the Vurtego Pro, I’d have more, but Pogopalooza IV is right around the corner & I’ve gotta start training for the height bar.

I apologize for going crazy on your blog by the way. It’s just that your post added excitement to a very excited mood.

“Pogopalooza IV is right around the corner…”

My mom was at Pogostock back in ’69. Man, I wish I had been there to see all those hippies bouncing around on pogo sticks(and on acid). But I was just a few months old and they didn’t make pogo sticks that small back then.

For an encore, Jimi Hendrix set his pogo stick on fire.

    I like the finale! =P

The Vurtego website specifically advises against jumping while drunk or high. With 7 feet clearance height (and an 18″ shaft on top of that before you get to your feet) you really have to watch your balance. Unless broken ankles are your thing…

If you still have the 3.4Ghz CPU, i’d be very interested. Drop me an email if it works and you still have it.

    Thanks!
